I love food! It is the corner stone of many great family gatherings. It is fun to give people cookies and other goodies for any reason or no reason at all. It is just all around good stuff! :o)
Unfortunately, food can have a way of sticking around even after the last crumb is consumed. That's right...straight to the hips, legs, belly, etc!!! Nick and I have been discussing losing weight for a long time! It is so much easier to just keep talking about it rather than actually doing something about it! We have decided that getting out to do much exercising is not an easy task with two small children and winter coming up. The answer? Weight Watchers Online.
I am looking forward to doing this with my husband. Since most of our meals we eat together, it will be a little easier to keep on track. I have done Weight Watchers in the past and had wonderful results. My hope is that this time, we can do it long enough to where it becomes a lifestyle change and not just another annoying diet! I don't even like to use to term diet because it automatically sends me in search of the biggest chocolate bar or greasiest cheeseburger I can find!
So, our first order of business is to get a digital scale and get registered online! That is the easy part...sticking to it...well only time will tell! :o)

Stress...
I haven't been able to write for a few days and the major barrier has been STRESS! When I get stressed, I tend to shut down! I don't care if the laundry or dishes pile up to the ceiling. I lose motivation to get school work done and I find it hard to focus on anything! I would just rather curl up in bed with a good book and let problems fix themselves!
Classes started back up this week and the assignments are a bit overwhelming. My husband has worn off on me a little over the years and I am becoming a "gotta get it done NOW!" kind of person. So the sight of these assignments, even though they are not all due right now, makes me start to panic!
I am realizing that January is coming up SUPER fast and I am nervous about starting Student Teaching. More nervous about leaving Mya with whoever we end up deciding on as a babysitter. That is another stressful journey in and of itself! The endless phone calls to check for openings and then the list of a million questions that I have for the prospective sitters. I really think God is teaching me to work on my patience level!
Mya has been a little under the weather this week and is already working on teeth. Needless to say, she has been beyond fussy! Last night I found myself PLEADING with her to just stop crying and go to sleep. Once she finally wore herself out around midnight, I proceeded to sob myself to sleep!
I am not sure when the last time was that I was able to talk to my husband without having to yell over a screaming baby and a "want to be independent but not quite able to yet" preschooler! We need to make date nights a priority once again! Why is it so easy to push that to the side?!?
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my life and I LOVE my family! I am just at a time where I feel like I am spinning my wheels. I am doing so many things at once that nothing gets my full attention and then I start to feel guilty! Nick told me that he read somewhere that multi-tasking lowers your IQ faster than doing drugs. YIKES...I hope that is a study that is later found to be false! :o)

I Want That!!!!!!!
And it has started - all of the toy commercials that spark the shrill of children all over the place..."I WANT THAT!!!" I am sure my daughter isn't the only child who, during the 1 minute commercial can say that phrase 500 times! I know there are always toy commercials on but it seems that we have reached the time of year where the advertising market kicks it into turbo gear and it is only OCTOBER!!!
Now, don't get me wrong...I LOVE to buy Christmas gifts for other people. I am not as big a fan of getting them but I LOVE to buy them. But seriously, it seems that as a society we are getting away from the true meaning of Christmas. We started working with Ally last year that Christmas was Jesus' Birthday. This year she understands much better! While driving home from my mom and dad's house the other night, we were talking about Christmas and that is was Jesus' Birthday and Ally said, "Mommy, I know what we can do for Jesus' Birthday! We can have a party!" (The kid LOVES birthday parties!) So I said, "Sure we can do that! What should we have at this party?" With a look that said DUH MOM!, she said/screamed "WE CAN HAVE CAKE!" She thinks that Jesus would like to have a princess cake! We are still discussing what kind of cake to have! :o)
It is such a stressful time of year for many people for many different reasons; too much hustle and bustle, a drain on money or the inquiring of more debt for gifts, too many family events that conflict and that is just naming a few! I pray that in the upcoming Christmas season we would all stop, share the real meaning of Christmas with those around us and count our blessings!

Enjoying Everday Life
I must say, I am a huge Joyce Meyer fan! I was kind of disappointed when I couldn't go to the Annual Women's Convention that she holds in St. Louis due to other commitments. (I am already planning on going next year!)
When I first saw her show, Enjoying Everyday Life, I didn't really get it. I mean, lets be honest...everyday life can really bring you down at times; endless piles of laundry and dishes, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, bathing, and the list goes on! But when I stop to think about it, it is the everyday things where God shows his amazing blessings on my life. I have begun to enjoy the everyday things! I enjoy Ally waking me up early in the morning wanting to watch cartoons and eat breakfast together! I enjoy Mya's middle of the night feedings! I enjoy hearing my husband pull in the driveway after work and seeing his smile when he walks through the door! I enjoy watching Ally look at Mya and seeing Mya's face light up with excitement! I enjoy talking with my mom on the phone or in person everyday! I enjoy seeing my nieces and nephews grow! I am a blessed woman and even when everday life gets tough and tiring, I need to remember this!

IT IS OFFICIAL...I am hooked on blogging!
I didn't really understand what all of the hype was about until I began reading other blogs. I have now developed the blogging fever! What a great way to discuss thoughts and opinions! I am looking forward to this new and exciting hobby!
Now, off to think about my next post...
