Can't Wait

For January to get here. I am not one to wish life away and that is not at all what my point is but I am SUPER excited for the Created for Care Retreat coming up in January. My cousin Ashley and I attended this retreat last year and is was phenomenal. I blogged a little about it here.

Registration opened up on Wednesday night at 11:00 central time with 400 spots available and filled up in less than 12 hours. AMAZING! The retreat was originally set up by an adoptive mom who just wanted a little down time with some other adoptive mommas. God has grown this so big! You might be thinking that maybe you missed something or that maybe I am crazy because we have not adopted and yet I am still going. But the beauty of the retreat is that you don't have to have adopted. You just have to have a heart for kiddos (check!) and be a woman (check!).

I am so excited for the breakout sessions that I signed up for. First one is Creative Quiet Time --- yes, please! I can't even seem to go to the bathroom alone. I long for quiet time with the Lord. We have to get rid of the noise and distractions in order to hear His voice. The next one is Nurturing Your Marriage (in the midst of mothering). If you are not a team with your spouse, everything else gets off track as well. I have realized over the last year or so that putting my marriage above my kids is the best thing I could do for them. But life takes over still and I need reminders that nurturing my marriage needs to be a priority. The third session is Advice for Parents in Wisdom and Revelation. Can I have a double dose of both please? There are so many voices in the world and everyone has their own ideas on everything. It makes it hard to make decisions for your family and then not second guess yourself or feel overburdened with guilt. God offers us wisdom and revelation if we seek Him. I get chills just thinking about all of the great things these speakers have in store for us in January!

A weekend to fellowship with other women that share your heart, learn lots of great things, have some quiet time, and eat yumminess like this... (yes, I took a picture of our dessert at the last retreat!)

Sounds like a little piece of heaven to me! Can't wait!!!
