Over the last few years of my life I have been searching my heart to discover my passion. The thing that I feel God pulling me towards. I believe I have discovered it. I am passionate about Orphans. If you want to get me on my soap box...this is the topic that will do it. I may have a few others too, but this is a BIGGIE!!!
I always knew that I loved kids and wanted to be a mom from the time I was little, but this is more than that. It is more than just a general love of kids or desire to be a mom (which by the way is my most favorite job ever).
I want to serve the kiddos that have NO voice. Sweet children that are cast out of their own family due to a birth defect or disease. Little ones that would live a very sad life in an orphanage where they simply become another statistic. Babies that might not live to see their first birthday because there just weren't enough workers to give them all the attention that they need and deserve.
The millions and millions of Orphans in the world did not just appear over night and the same with a solution. There is no quick fix for this. But there is a God who LOVES these kids. And HE, my friends, has a plan.
I am currently praying about where God would have me serve or how. And let me tell you...it is hard. It is messy. It is scary. It is real. When you meet these kids in their element, you are no longer in your own. I am not sure what all He has lined out for me or for our family but I pray that we would be willing to say, "YES! Whatever Your will is Lord! YES!"
Here are some awesome organizations that I love and that truly shine the love of God.
Hope for Orphans
Cry of the Orphan
Ordinary Hero
The Mercy House Kenya
Machaseh Children's Ranch
Shiloh Children's Home
There are so many more. I would encourage you to look into the links above. Maybe God will stir in your heart a love for the children that He knows by name and loves!

Ah Britt...God created our hearts to beat as one! :0) I can't WAIT to see our lives 10 years from now and see what God has us doing for HIS children.
